Description

8" (20 cm.) A painted and lithographed tin toy portrays a railroad porter rushing to deliver a steamer trunk to the train, the porter with dark blue navy jacket and official cap, lithographed tin pants with EPL logo design is pushing a two-wheel dolly that contains a tin steamer trunk labeled "Adam" (often used as candy container). When coil-spring wound, the porter briskly walks along, pushing the trunk. Excellent condition, functions well. Marked Lehmann. Comments: Lehmann's EPL number 689, the man is jointed at shoulders, hips and knees in the same manner as "Oh My" toy (Lot#864) allowing very realistic walking movement; the toy employed five different design registrations. Circa 1910.
