Description
9" dolls, 13" x 9" basket. A pair of twin paper mache shoulder head babies with painted facial features, paper mache arms, bellows torsos, faux lower bodies captured in original muslin swaddling wrap are resting in their original woven layette that is lavishly fitted with padded blankets, lace covered pillows and frame. The babies wear original decorated muslin gowns and ruffled tulle bonnets and are perfectly preserved. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, probably Schilling, circa 1860, a superb all-original presentation set of twin babies with luxury bedding.
