Description
40" (102 cm.) h. x 30"w. x 16"d. The dark wood two store dollhouse with natural finish has double gable rooflines, each roof with double chimney, full-width front porch with chain-attached short posts, arched paneled front door, and painted-pane front windows. The entire front opens to reveal four large interior rooms, each with original wood or paper floor, papered walls, and built-in fireplaces, and the kitchen fireplace is fitted with a rare roasting device (see detail photos). The house is in excellent condition. English, Georgian era, circa 1800. Included with the house is a 1951 note regarding its history, "The piece was on exhibition at the English Fair at Wembley and viewed by Queen Mary who is a collector of doll furniture. Alan Crosland, noted Movie Director, now deceased, bought it in competition with Queen Mary's Commissionaire".
