Description
23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump face, large blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading and darker blue outer rims, dark eyeliner, rose eye shadow, painted lashes, brushstroked brows with feathering, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: rubs around the neck as it fits into socket, otherwise bisque excellent. French body is not original. Marks: 6 (head) Bebe Jumeau Bte SGDG Depose (body). Comments: Sonneberg, mystery maker, the doll closely resembles the early 908 model by Simon and Halbig, circa 1880. Value Points: rare doll with captivating expression, beaituful complexion and painting.
