18" (46 cm.) Composition shoulderhead depicting the early star of Ziegfeld Follies, and both silent and talking films, having distinctively sculpted features used on this doll only, distinguished side-parted sculpted hair and thick brows, pronounced nose, hinged jaw opening to painted teeth, muslin stitch-jointed body, composition lower hands and feet, painted gloves and shoes, and wearing original costume and hat. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: The original W.C. Fields, an Effanbee Play Product (pin). Comments: American, Effanbee, circa 1930. Value Points: very realistic modeling of the early film star, well-preserved condition with original costume.
