Description
2 1/2" (6 cm.) x 4" painting. 7" x 9" framed. A finely rendered painting depicting a young girl in fashionable costume of 1880s is seated at a parlor table, a mantel clock with two ornamental figures resting on the table; she holds the winding key in her hand and appears about to wind the clock. The painting is signed L.L. French, Luigi Loir, circa 1888, from a series of miniature paintings of Paris life created by the celebrated artist. Excellent condition.
