14" (36 cm.) All-wooden carved soldier has one-piece head and torso, carved wooden helmet with detailed accents, short brown carved hair, polychromed facial features and complexion, brown enamel eyes, carved wide moustache, defined throat hollow, mortise and tenon-jointed shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, carved detail of knee-high painted boots, wearing brown velvet court uniform with woven lattice chest cover and gold braid trim, and carrying original silver shield and gilded metal palm leaf. Excellent condition. Genoese, late 17th century, in the manner of Pietro Andrea Torre.
