17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, Dehors neck articulation allowing the head to tilt side to side and forward in a realistic manner, blue paperweight eyes with spiral threading and darker blue outer rims, dark eyeliner, feathered brows, dainty lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid gusset-jointed body with stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, body is near mint with some minor kid patching on arms. Marks: Simonne, Rue de Rivoli, 188 (body stamp). Comments: French, circa 1875, the doll was presented in the luxury boutique of Simonne. Value Points: outstanding poupee of stunning beauty, with Simonne label, and wearing original gown with elaborate drape, extended train, and lace trim, with original aqua necklace and earrings, undergarments, leather boots.
