12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted facial features, small downcast painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, closed mouth with center accent line and solemn expression, brunette mohair braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Deponiert F.S. & C 1263/30 Germany. Comments: Franz Schmidt, circa 1910 from the firm's rare art character reform series. Value Points: exceptional detail of sculpting, especially notable on this petite size, with most compelling wistful expression, original body and body finish, fine antique costume.
