Description
Child's lithographed tin toy bank modeled after the then-famous, Wanamaker's Department Store. In place of elaborate embossing, the store has a lithographed tin second floor balcony with stairs on the front side. The attention to lithographic detail of the people and common work tools around the building is notable. Slant top roof has a wide slot for coins and a key lock mechanism. Marked "J. Wanamaker Philadelphia New York Paris" as a sign on the balcony, and stamped "Wanamaker" on roof near coin slit. Excellent condition. 3 1/4".
