8 1/2" (22 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead, deeply-sculpted brown hair waved around face and captured in a topknot at crown, enamel eyes, mouth modeled slightly open with defined tongue tip, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings and black clogs, wearing original well-detailed silk folklore costume, and accompanied by three 3" carved wooden lambs in white, grey or brown finish, and in three different poses. Excellent condition, Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
