Description
29" (74 cm.) l. x 16" x 14"d. The five-sided open-front doll house room features original blue and red paint with black stenciled outlines,two side windows,grey and burgundy exterior painting. The house is furnished with a painted tin parlor set comprising a sofa with rolled arms and two balloon-back arm chairs,each upholstered in original navy blue velvet,along with matching turtle-top pedestal table and lattice design corner cupboard. Two additional balloon-back tin chairs with blue silk upholstery are also included. A lady's desk and a drop front bureau desk by Wagner & Sohne are also included,along with a fancy bronze chair,a painted tin fire screen,painted tin plant stand,very fancy magazine rack and similar hamper are featured,and four ormolu-framed engravings and a bronze framed painting decorat the room. There is a crystal chandelier,porcelain figurines,Chinese softpaste,bone opera glasses,birdcage,pewter tea service,two ormolu ink wells,two bisque dollhouse dolls in original military uniforms,a toy horse,and a pair of bisque bulldogs. The house is lettered 5892 on underside. Germany,circa 1875.
