11" (28 cm.) Representing two adult woman and two small children,each with carved socket head with defined features with tinted highlights,the women with sculpted black hair in simple coiffure captured in a tight chignon at the back of head,and the children with black painted hair close to crown,each with cloth body and wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission,circa 1920,depicted are two Amah (nannies) and two 5" young charges. Value Points: each wears its original traditional multi-layered costume,hand-sewn at the Mission,the children with particularly delightful bright costumes.
