Description
23" (58 cm.) w. x 20"h. The setting features foliage, ruins of a garden entrance, stone-edged grotto, steps and other architectural details of a rustic nature, amidst which is standing a polychromed terra cotta girl with brown sculpted hair arranged with two coiled knots at her crown, tow-wrapped posable armature body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings and black shoes with red buckles, original peasant costume, along with a brown terra cotta bear cub, and a multi-colored terra cotta bird with extended tail feathers. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
