Description
14" (36 cm.) doll. 21" x 16" box. Fitted within its original fitted box is a bisque head doll,along with two additional bisque heads designed for use with the same body,and two additional costumes. Each head has solid dome with original nearly flocked hair,blue or brown inset "jewel" eyes,painted lashes and brows. The complete doll,model 235,has closed mouth and two beaded teeth; the crying doll head,model 233,has closed mouth modeled as though open with row of teeth and defined tongue; and the third,a handsome lad has slightly parted lips with sculpted teeth. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (each marked SFBJ Paris with model number,as cited above). Comments: SFBJ circa 1912,the deluxe multi-head presentation set was offered by the firm along with instructions "simple,facile,amusant" instructions in English,French and German for changing the heads. Value Points: extremely rare set in unplayed with condition,choice bisque,perfectly flocked hair,three fine original costumes indicating the dolls could be presented as girls or boys.
