25" (64 cm.) armoire. 12" doll. The wooden armoire with arched crest and paneled double doors opens to reveal a well-fitted interior with a bounty of fine linens tied with blue silk ribbons. Posed at the center is a bisque-head doll with blue glass eyes,painted facial features,closed mouth,brunette human hair wig,five piece composition body,wearing her original muslin chemise trimmed with lace and blue silk ribbons. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: G.D. 4. Comments: Henri Delcroix,circa 1890,the doll in presentation cabinet was offered by a Parisian department store as a special holiday Etrennes gift. Value Points: wonderfully-preserved luxury doll and cabinet with fine details such as lace-edged inner door panels,and fine cast brass hardware.
