21" (53 cm.) The all-wooden doll of finely-grained woods with natural darkened finish has oval slender adult face with well-defined eye sockets,age lines on forehead,elongated nose,closed mouth,swivel head,muscular upper torso,ball swivel waist,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,wrists,hips knees and ankles,well-defined toes and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Continental,probably French,mid-19th century,the body model and design served as inspiration to Leon Casimir Bru for his deposed wooden poupee body of 1867. Value Points: well-sculpted model with characterized facial features,perfectly preserved.
