Description
22" (56 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, pierced ears, stretched-kid over wooden body with shapely torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, pivot jointing at upper arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent, lower arms are not original. Marks: 6. Comments: Pierre Francois Jumeau, the portrait poupee face evolved into the earliest bebe head models, circa 1875. Value Points: rare model with wonderfully shaped torso, beautiful quality and preservation of bisque head and shoulderplate.
