20" (51 cm.) l. x 13"h. x 11"d. The wooden-framed grocery has double-angled walls at each side front,each featuring an arched window that is framed by painted red borders. Colorful engravings decorate the lower panels,and blue panels with gilt lettering "Magasin d'Epicierie" edge the top. The store is painted original pale blue with darker blue and red trim,open shelves line the back wall,and wide display shelves are at each window. The floor has original lithographed paper to simulate tile,and there is a matching counter. The store contains an array of tin,paper and glass food containers with original labels,glass plates with paper mache "food",an iron and brass scale,wooden barrel,and a bisque head dollhouse woman with original costume including elaborate Normandy coiffe. Germany,from the firm of Christian Hacker,the store was created for the French market,circa 1885.
