16" (41 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulder head with oval-shaped face and elongated throat, small black glass enamel eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, refined sculpting of nose, closed mouth, accented lips, black painted pate with center slit for wig insertion, applied hair to sides and crown with orange blossom earrings and crown, kid poupee body with stitched and separated fingers, gusset-jointing at hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1840. Value Points: very beautiful and elegant lady retains fine original lustrous finish, wearing early ivory satin and crepe de chine gown with flower trim, undergarments, slippers.
