9" (23 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with black sculpted hair in elaborate coiffure known as Apollo Knot, having wide side curls and arranged braid-wrapped curls at the crown, painted facial features, slender kid body with wooden lower limbs, painted yellow shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1845. Value Points: well-preserved original finish, the early doll wears her original muslin gown with transfer-stamped abstract design, muslin undergarment.
