5 1/2" (14 cm.) l. A wallet-sized portfolio designed for carrying spectacles, tools, or other valuable personal goods has accordion sides for expansion. On one side is marbleized design, and on the other is a hand-painted oil of woman standing in profile, her head facing forward, and her hands folded, holding a fan. Circa 1850. Very good condition, some minor spotting.
