12" (30 cm.) Thick paste porcelain shoulder head depicting oval-faced lady with slightly elongated throat, black sculpted hair drawn around sides of face and waved behind the sculpted ears into long ringlet curls that fall onto the shoulders, painted facial features with unusually deep definition of eye sockets, aquiline nose, hint of smile on closed mouth, all-wooden fully-articulated body, porcelain lower limbs, painted orange slippers, fingers of right hand in curled pose for holding object. Condition: break and reglue on front shoulderplate, otherwise excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: rare coiffure, superb sculpting of hair, wooden body with original porcelain limbs, fine larger size.
