9" (23 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of adult lady with slender face, elongated throat, black sculpted hair drawn smoothly around sides of face into tightly braided chignon at back of head, painted facial features, all-wooden articulated body with dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted black shoes. Condition: generally excellent, right porcelain lower arm replaced with left-handed arm of the same era. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: rare wooden body, beautiful face with delicately tinted complexion, wearing original black taffeta gown and undergarments.
