43" (109 cm.) l. x 18"h. x 17"d. (plus 7"d. detachable side porch). The house features three rooms,each with grand high ceiling,tall window at the back,opening doors between each room,and one side door that opens to the side porch. The rooms have original floor papers to simulate wood grain or tile,and the original wall papers are framed with complementary wainscoting and ceiling border papers. The large center room features a Christmas scene with hanging chandelier,ceiling-height decorated Christmas tree,ceramic parlor stove,burgundy-velvet upholstered furnishings,two window boxes with potter plants,maple wood sewing table with accessories,tea table with porcelain tea service,wall-mounted glass lamp,mirror,framed prints and various holiday toys and decoration including riding horse,Erzebirge merry-go-round,dolls and such. The bedroom has a fancy aqua-painted wooden bed and nightstand,tin wash stand with copper bowl and metal faucet,soft metal swinging cradle with canopy,trunk,ormolu wall fixture with crystal dangles,potted plants,and various framed prints. The sun porch is furnished with white wooden settee,three chairs and a table,with upholstery to match the wall paper; there is a hanging gas lamp,wooden floor lamp with fabric shade,ormolu bird cage,and potted plants. Bisque dollhouse dolls include moustached man with fur-trimmed holiday jacket,mother,and five all-bisque children (three in factory-original costumes). There is paint wear on the exterior wall,but overall the house is well-preserved with a bounty of treasures in the wonderfully nostalgic scenes. Germany,circa 1900.
