16" (41 cm.) Carved wooden socket head portraying a young lad, carved hair with defined forelock curl, painted facial features, brown eyes with large black pupils and white eyedots, tinted brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with solemn expression, carved wooden spring-jointed body, antique sailor suit. Condition: head expression, body finish very worn, hands replaced. Marks: (Schoenhut incised mark). Comments: Schoenhut, a 1930 version of the early 204 model originally issued in 1911, this example having the "sun-tanned" complexion of 1930 era Schoenhut dolls. Value Points: most appealing expression with richly carved details of hair and wistful expression.
