Description
5 1/2" diameter largest (14 cm). Each has hand-painted scene under glass portraying fashionable ladies and gentlemen of the aristocracy; one man with stylized beard and moustache, fitted waistcoat and top hat. Each scene is framed in brass and forms the lid of a circular heavy card candy box. French, early 19th century. Very rare boxes with exquisite detail of painting.
