21" (53 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, modeled bosom and shoulderblades, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with upturned lip corners, shaded nostrils, pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, kid body with gusset-jointing, bisque arms from below the elbows. Condition: generally excellent, three fingers restored on left hand. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1878, first period of the bebe by the prestige dollmaker. Value Points: lovely gentle expression, with sturdy original body, wearing magenta silk dress with lace trim, undergarments, lace bonnet, magenta sateen shoes.
