14" (36 cm.) Mustard golden velvet bulldog of comical design, with swivel head, felt felt tongue, painted facial features to depict the original illustrations including large squinting eyes and freckles, stitched brown velvet ears, plump torso, jointed curved arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Chad Valley Bonzo Harbourne (celluloid pin at neck) Hygienic Toys Chad Valley (cloth tag under foot). Comments: Bonzo, based upon the original story book illustrations of George Studdy, made by Chad Valley, circa 1930. Value Points: delightful rendition of the storybook dog with original leatherette collar and pin.
