Description
11" (28 cm.) Posed upon a maple wood box with fruitwood inlay is a bisque-headed doll with blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig, carton torso, loosely jointed legs, original lace costume. The doll is posed upon a metal rod that attaches to the mechanical device within the box, and when wound, the doll bounces up and down, appearing to dance while music plays. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Au Louvre Paris (original store paper label). Comments: circa 1890,French. Value Points: beautiful quality of music with charming mechanical action of doll.
