Description
21" (53 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, sculpted boyish hair with side-part, dark blue glass squinting inset eyes, painted brown lashes, single-stroke brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth modeled as though wide open and crying, sculpted tongue, row of beaded upper teeth and two beaded lower teeth, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 233 Paris 8. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1912. Value Points: the larger size allows for especially fine modeling depicting a crying child, with impressed crying crinkles around the eyes and mouth, the rare model is wearing antique school boy costume.
