Description
Consisting of a round cylinder shaped tinplate
stove with scalloped roofline, cutwork hinged
door, drawer for removal of ashes, and brass-
edged flue openings. The stove has a decorative
hearth and fancy feet. The purpose of the stove
was to draw cold air into the bottom and pass
warm air through the top. Patent #27488 was
issued to John Walch of New York on March 13,
1860 concerning, simply, "stoves". The original
patent tag is attached. A photocopy of the
original patent application is included. 11"H.
