11" (28 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead depicting elderly woman, sculpted greying hair captured under a black cap with red binding and bow, enamel inset eyes, fully-sculpted ears, drawn cheek bones, defined throat goiter, modeled bosom, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings and black shoes with gold buckles, wearing original silk folklore costume. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, rarity factors include modeled cap, bosom, goiter.
