29" (74 cm). Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, dark lushly painted lashes, thick brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, shaded nostrils, open mouth with shaded and outlined lips, row of porcelain teeth, separately applied pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. CONDITION: generally excellent. MARKS: 13. COMMENTS: Emile Jumeau or the La Samaritaine department store in Paris, the doll was marketed as Bebe Samaritaine (see box label photograph), circa 1895. VALUE POINTS: perfectly preserved trademarked doll with choice bisque and painting, original body and body finish, wig, pate, earrings, original silk plaid costume, stockings, shoes, and Jumeau black leather shoes signed Paris Depose 13 with bee symbol, original box with beautiful label.
