Description
13" (33 cm.) All cloth doll with pressed and artistically-painted facial features and hair, blue eyes, blushed cheeks, stitched ears, posed on wooden stand. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: H.M. The King/Made in England by J.K. Farnell & Co. Alpha Toys (paper and cloth tags on costume). Comments: Alpha Toys, circa 1936 upon the ascension of George VI to the throne of England. Value Points: superbly preserved condition of the luxury portrait doll, bearing an apt resemblance to the King, and wearing very elaborate coronation robes including faux-ermine trimmed velvet long robe, purple velvet tunic, crown, and carrying sceptre and orb, contained in original labeled box.
