Description
The seemingly-simple black silk cape is thoughtfully constructed with box pleats at the shoulders and fall of the back, hidden arm holes, and trimmed with black velvet ribbon. Along with black velvet toque with turned up edging, black velvet banding, black feathers and ivory silk lining. A remnant of original paper label remains inside. Circa 1865. The ensemble is appropriately sized for 15-17" poupee.
