Description
6" (15 cm.) doll. A porcelain head doll sculpted black hair,painted features,muslin body,wooden hands clasping a wire jump rope,is attached by metal rod to a tin and wooden tower which actually hides the clockwork mechanism that causes her to tumble somersaults when wound. The tower has tin walls with three lithographed scenes of children at play,and nicely-shaped wooden base and cap. Condition: generally excellent,mechanism functions well. Comments: circa 1875. Value Points: rare mechanical toy is beautifully-preserved.
