4" (10 cm.) In rich royal blue color with embossed design and gilt ormolu decorations, the curved top necessaire hinges open to reveal a well-fitted interior whose accoutrements include brushes, combs, shoe horn, lacer, perfume bottle, mirror, and powder jar. Original paper label on base reads "Magasin des Enfants, Paris, Passage de l'Opera", the Parisian luxury toy store of the mid-19th century. Excellent condition. French, circa 1870.
