12" (30 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig in original coiffure captured under coiffe, kid poupee body with gusset-jointed limbs, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent, body especially clean and sturdy except one finger broken. Marks: 0. Comments: Gaultier, circa 1875. Value Points: poupee wears perfectly preserved formal costume of Normandy, including unique decorated coiffe, linsey-woolsey striped gown, muslin shawl, blue silk apron, undergarments, wooden sabots, and accessories including spectacles, cross, brooch and watch on chain.
