5" (13 cm.) One-piece bisque head and torso,painted side-glancing eyes,dark upper eyeliner,single stroke brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with beaming smile,modeled space between the lips,impressed dimples,brunette mohair wig,peg-jointed bisque arms and legs,modeled bent elbows,pointing right index finger,painted thigh-high white stockings,black one-strap shoes,costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: JIO c. 1920. Comments: Germany,circa 1925,designed by American artist Jeanne Orsini. Value Points: the doll is preserved in her original box along with an advertising sheet for E.A. Pallman,Optician of New Haven,Connecticut,who also included "dolls and yarns" in his store inventory.
