Of fine white dimity with tiny interwoven pattern of mauve diamonds, the gown features a semi-fitted bodice with centered front and back panels of tiny gathers framed by lined fitted sides. The gown has a rounded neckline with wide back collar edged by a self-ruffle that extends into loose ties that crisscross the front of the dress forming a back tie at the waist. The short puffed sleeves have self-fabric banding and there is a set-in waistband above a skirt with tiny cartridge gathers. There are two hook and loop closures at the back. The dress is stamped "Herbillon, 46 Rue de Choiseul" on the interior waistband. Circa 1860. Appropriately sized for 14-15" poupee.
