Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, bulbous brown glass inset eyes, thick black eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows with feathered detail, shaded nostrils with upturned nose, accented eye corners, closed mouth, defined white space between the pale outlined lips, pierced ears, dimpled chin, blonde mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: G.K. 34-29. Comments: Gebruder Kuhnlenz, circa 1885, the model closely resembles the early Brevete Bebe model of Bru, whose market the doll sought to capture. Value Points: very beautiful facial expression and lovely painting of the rare doll, with original body, antique rose cotton dress, undergarments, leather boots.
