15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, plump facial modeling, cobalt blue enamel eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, feathered brows, ears pierced into head, blonde human hair over cork pate, original padded metal armature body with muslin cover which allows infinite articulation, bisque hands and lower legs, bisque bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E Depose B. Comments: Barrois, Paris, circa 1865. The doll is presented from the family of its original owner, Carrie C. Bliss, born October 26, 1863 in Boston, along with the following doll accessories (Lot #107) which are presented in original ink labeled box. Value Points: lovely pale complexion contrasts her brilliant blue eyes, rare body with bisque hands and feet, and wearing original costume comprising (frail) silk costume, undergarments, leather boots.
