Poured wax shoulder head with delicate complexion and softly blushed cheeks, blue glass inset eyes, incised eyeliner, feathered real brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the delicately shaded lips, separately inserted delicately tendriled baby hair, muslin body with stitch-jointing at shoulders and hips, cinched waist, poured wax lower limbs. CONDITION: generally excellent. COMMENTS: the English wax doll was created for the French market, circa 1860. VALUE POINTS: superb unplayed with condition with appealing complexion and expression, the doll has been preserved in her original blue French store box along with an extensive couturier-made costumes, compromising: cutwork and embroidered baby gown with matching bonnet, under-blouse, slip, pique diaper with pearl buttons, white pique dress with hand-edged scalloped rick-rack; white pique bavolet cap with soutache; cream cashmere baby coat with silk quilted lining and matching detachable cape; three blouses, three petticoats, three chemises, two lace bonnets, collars, knit stockings, red and white striped stockings, and red kidskin shoes with soft tan soles impressed "T".
