Description
17" (43 cm.) Arranged upon a rosewood base under blown glass dome is a paper mache headed lady with sculpted black hair and painted facial features, wooden hands and feet, with original costume with shell-constructed apron and ruffled sleeves, and holding a garland of shells in her outstretched arms. The doll is arranged under a flowering tree with a lavish arrangement of shell-constructed flowers, and with various shells scattered on the ground, Excellent condition. French, circa 1860, the delightful vignette is all-original.
