Description
24" (61 cm.) l. x 24"h. x 14"d. The stackable two-story doll house rooms with cherrywood frame is uniquely constructed with set-back alcove for elaborate bed which is set upon a stepped platform and is flanked by closet door with arched door frame. There is a door on one side which opens to a side and back porch with fancy railing, and a large window on the other side with elaborately-carved wooden panes. There is a matching kitty-corner dressing table, two night stands, various prints and a wall-to-wall silk velvet carpet. A bisque bride and groom are featured. The first floor is rustic with built-in cabinets, work tables, benches and paneling; there is a dining niche at the back, and a paneled door leads to an entry foyer and stairway. The windows at the side and back hinge open at the center, and the kitchen is furnished with food, steins, and copper utensils. The exterior is covered with hand-painted paper to suggest vine and flower-covered walls and there is a secret entrance at the back to the bedroom. The overall design is curious, being very stylized Art Nouveau in the bedroom, and very country style in the kitchen. Circa 1925,a wonderful imaginative one-of-a-kind miniature room house.
