14" (36 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of lady with heart-shaped face, head inclined to the side, sculpted brown hair with elaborate curls framing the face and formed into a topknot at her crown, enamel inset eyes, aquiline nose, closed smiling mouth, tow-wrapped armature posable body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings, orange ankle boots, wearing original costume comprising long coral silk coat and fitted silk vest each trimmed with silver braid which is repeated at the topknot crown, ivory harem pants, coral and silver necklace. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, especially artistic painting.
