Description
22" overall l. 7"h. A wooden stage coach with hinged door access to the interior seats, has both driver and passenger seats on the exterior, along with tied luggage on the roof, wooden spoked wheels and is painted in mellow shades of ochre, blue, green and red in vivid design, along with the initials V.R. (Victoria Rex). A team of wooden carved horses with flannel cover pulls the coach. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: handmade coach of imaginative design, circa 1860, the coach was shown in Faurholt's Book of Dolls and Dollhouses, page 75. Provenance: Legoland Museum.
