14" (36 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of noble-faced older man with incised wrinkles, enamel eyes, sculpted grey hair under very elaborate padded turban, sculpted grey thick brows, sideburns, flowing beard and thick moustache, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings and brown wrinkled boots, wearing original ivory silk tunic with attached padded train having rich metallic thread embroidery, matching belted vest, yellow harem pants. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, outstanding sculpting of beard and rich original costume.
