21" (53 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, thick dark eyeliner, long painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, some typical wear to kid body. Comments: Jumeau, circa 1877, the portrait poupee which evolved into Emile Jumeau's early portrait bebe was introduced to the firm by his brother Pierre-Francois Jumeau. Value Points: very beautiful poupee with entrancing large eyes.
